2025 FREERIDE FUTURES EOI

Snow Australia is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for a 2025 Freeride FUTURES at Mt Hotham.

WHAT IS SNOW AUSTRALIA FUTURES?

Snow Australia FUTURES has a vision to inspire the next generation of Snowsport competitors by offering unique opportunities for participants to engage with High-Performance athletes, staff, and facilities.

FUTURES programs may aim to:

  • Introduce participants to unique sporting opportunities and expert Snowsport athletes and coaches.
  • Engage National Team athletes and programs in pathway development initiatives.
  • Encourage participation in domestic ski and snowboard events.
  • Facilitate interactions between competitive Snowsport participants within the national cohort.
  • Introduce participants to elements of high-performance sport and practices.
  • Provide education on the Snow Australia FTEM athlete pathway and the various opportunities, resources, and programs available to Australian Snowsport participants.
  • Connect areas of the athlete pathway between interschools participation, Snow Australia pathway providers and ETP.

Snow Australia FREERIDE FUTURES

Freeride FUTURES is a Talent ID and skill development initiative created by Snow Australia with the support of Recognised Pathway Programs, the Freeride World Tour, and members of the Australian Freeride community.

Freeride FUTURES will take place during the weekend of the Freeride World Tour Junior (FWT Junior) Event at Mt Hotham.  Participants will have the opportunity to ride the mountain under the guidance of Australia’s leading freeride athletes and coaches.

Sport Development Staff from the Freeride World Tour and Snow Australia will also be in attendance to provide education to participants on the discipline of Freeride and the competitive pathway toward the 2026 FIS Freeride World Tour and beyond.

FUTURES will be scheduled for the FWT Junior Weather Day on Sunday 27 July.  If the weather day is needed for the event, FUTURES activity will take place on Saturday 26 July

Who is it for?

Freeride FUTURES is targeted at all ski and snowboard competitors registered for the Junior Freeride World Tour event at Mt Hotham.  However, this is not a pre-requisite.  Participants that are not competing or affiliated with a Pathway Club/Program must have the skills required to ski/snowboard all levels of terrain on the mountain.

***Please note that expressing interest does not guarantee a place in the FUTURES Program.  Placement may be offered at the discretion of Snow Australia.
