2025 Alpine Snowboard FUTURES EOI
Snow Australia is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the 2025 Alpine Snowboard FUTURES which is planned to take place at Thredbo on the 9th of August 2025.
WHAT IS SNOW AUSTRALIA FUTURES?
Snow Australia FUTURES has a vision to inspire the next generation of Snowsport competitors by offering unique opportunities for participants to engage with High-Performance athletes, staff, and facilities.
We remind ourselves that achievements of high performance are often built upon an enjoyment and passion for Snowsports and for the experiences it allows us to share with others.
With this in mind, Snow Australia FUTURES programs may aim to:
- Introduce participants to unique sporting opportunities and expert Snowsport athletes and coaches.
- Engage National Team athletes and programs in pathway development initiatives.
- Encourage participation in domestic ski and snowboard events.
- Facilitate interactions between competitive Snowsport participants within the national cohort.
- Introduce participants to elements of high-performance sport and practices.
- Provide education on the Snow Australia FTEM athlete pathway and the various opportunities, resources, and programs available to Australian Snowsport participants.
- Connect areas of the athlete pathway between interschools participation, Snow Australia pathway providers and ETP.
Snow Australia THREDBO ALPINE SNOWBOard FUTURES
Alpine Snowboard FUTURES is a skill development initiative by Snow Australia with support from the Alpine Snowboard National Team athletes and Thredbo Resort Coaches. The program is designed to prepare riders for Snowboard Alpine competition with exposure to technical elements of Alpine Snowboarding, and the opportunity to compete in a Thredbo Snowboard PGS Test event the following day, 10th of August.
Participants will be given a high-performance training experience for a day with National Team athlete Harvey Edmanson.
Snow Australia Staff, National Team Coaches and athletes will be in attendance on course to mentor participants and answer questions. However, this is not a snowboarding lesson or official coaching program. Parents will be responsible for their children in the same capacity as at an Interschools Competition or Race Event.
