2025-2026 Victorian XC Ski Team

The Victorian Cross Country Ski Team provides coaching, training opportunities and support for Victorian junior athletes. 

2025-2026 Program Inclusions

• General coaching and training advice.
• Ability to participate in training sessions, training camps, and other activities
• Coaching and waxing support at designated events (not including glide waxing, see below).
• Ability to purchase team uniforms, including T-shirts, Hoodies and Race/Warm-Up clothing

Team Fee

• $165 (including GST)

Additional fees apply for camps, individual training plans, glide waxing, see below.

Pre-Requisites

Members of the Victorian XC Ski Team must also be financial members of Snow Australia. You will need to be a current member before registering for the VICXC Ski Team. The minimum level is the Cross Country Sport Racer membership, which allows entry into all state and national championship events, as well as other AUSXC development activities.

Upcoming 2025 Training Camps

• May 17-18 - VIC XC Team Weekend Camp @ Mt Beauty
  - including Mt Beauty Running Festival
• July 14-18 - VIC XC Team On-Snow Camp @ Falls Creek*

Registration for both these camps will be open during May. Additional camp fees apply.

* NOTE - the Falls Creek on-snow camp will be non-residential. Sessions will be run morning and afternoon each day, and on some evenings. Athletes and their families will need to source their own accommodation.

2025 Supported Races

Coaching and waxing support will be provided at the following events this winter:

• Saturday 26 July: VIC Juniors - Sprint C @ Falls Creek
• Sunday 27 July: VIC Juniors - Distance F @ Falls Creek
• Friday (!) 1 August: AUS Open - Sprint F @ Perisher
• Saturday 2 August: AUS Open - 15 C @ Perisher
• Saturday 16 August: AUS Open/Juniors - Sprint C @ Falls Creek
• Sunday 17 August: AUS Open/Juniors - Distance F @ Falls Creek

Event Glide Waxing

Coaches will provide glide waxing tips and assist with classic waxing for all VICXC members. However, if athletes would like to have their skis glide waxed by VICXC coaches, they will need to pay an additional fee per event to help cover the costs of wax and the services of the coaches.

• Per event glide waxing fee: $20 (per pair, per race)

Individual training plans

VICXC members can opt-in for individual training plans and coaching provided by coach Jacob Huseby. This includes:

• Individualised training periodisation around school/other commitments
• Assistance with individual performance planning (IPPs)
• Weekly training correspondence and advice
• Feedback on technique remotely
• All winter weekend sessions for no additional fee (see below)

Training Plan Fees:

• $500 for 6 months May to October

Note, all VICXC athletes are supported equally on camps and at events.

Weekend Coaching @ Falls Creek

During the 2025 winter VICXC will offer a number of weekend training sessions open to all VICXC members. Dates for these sessions will be provided in advance, with specific times and session details confirmed the week before. Some sessions will be included as part of the annual VICXC fee, while some sessions may require additional coaching fees.. RSVPs will be needed each week to assist coaches with planning.

AUSXC Coaching @ Falls Creek

Athletes at an appropriate development level can seek to join in the regular on-snow training at Falls Creek that is provided to National Team athletes during the winter. Sessions are not run every day, typically there will be 3-4 sessions held between Monday-Friday and 1-2 sessions on the weekend

• Full-season AUSXC on-snow coaching - $500
• Weekly drop-in - $75

Interested athletes should contact Finn Marsland or Jacob Huseby to determine suitability. Sessions and times will be communicated each week.
