AUSTRALIAN TEAM SELECTION PROCESSES FOR THE BEIJING 2022 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
In preparation for Australian Team Selection for Beijing 2022 , Snow Australia has developed the following Athlete Information Sheet on the Nomination & Selection Process and details of the Nomination Criteria for Beijing 2022. These can be found below:

Selection to the Australian Olympic Winter Games Team
Selection to the Australian Olympic Winter Games Team will be outlined in the following steps:
Step 3 - Nomination to AOC Selection Committee
Step 4 - Selection to the Australian Olympic Team
STEP 1 - LONG LIST
Athletes are chosen to the National Federation "LONG LIST" for the respective discipline/ sport. This may involve meeting a minimum performance standard and completing the following steps:
STEP 2 - QUALIFICATION SYSTEM - Minimum FIS Standards
Qualification is achieved through meeting the minimum International Federation (FIS) standards as outlined below. Athletes who are on the NF Long List and meet the minimum qualification standards are eligible to be considered by the Snow Australia Nomination criteria.
Each nation must qualify quotas as per the International Federation (FIS) standards as outlined in the FIS Qualification System.

Qualification Period Update
Please note that due to the impact of COVID-19 on the international competition season 2020/21, the Federation of International Skiing (FIS) updated the qualification period for Alpine Skiing. The updated qualification period is as follows:
The Olympic Quota Allocation List is a global list of all male and female athletes, from the top 500 of the Olympic FIS points List in their best two (2) events from Downhill, Super-G, Alpine Combined, Giant Slalom, Slalom during the Olympic Qualification period from 1 July 2019 to 16 January 2022.

STEP 3 - NOMINATION TO AOC SELECTION COMMITTEE
Nomination is achieved through meeting the criteria outlined by the Snow Australia Nomination Criteria. Athletes who meet this criteria are nominated to the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) for selection.

STEP 4 - SELECTION BY THE AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC COMMITTEE (AOC)
The AOC Selection Committee will then select nominated athletes according to the AOC Selection Criteria. This process may also include the following requirements;
- Compliance with AOC By-Laws, Policies and Standards of Behaviour
- Signed Team Membership Agreement and Disclosure
- Signed Entry and Eligibility Form
