Interschools Multiclass Event July 15
The Multiclass Event is open to students and open class with an intellectual or physical disability. Participants can compete in an Alpine GS or Snowboard GS event during the Northern NSW & QLD Interschools Championships.
Multiclass Participant Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, participants must meet one or more of the following criteria:

Be registered with Sport Inclusion Australia and hold a valid eligibility number.

Hold a current eligible or provisional School Sport or Para-alpine classification pertaining to a physical impairment.

Have a formal diagnosis of Autism and be able to provide supporting documentation.

Be a current year member of Special Olympics Australia.
-
Be a current year member of Disabled Wintersport Australia.
During the registration process, you will need to select which criteria the participant qualifies for.
Multiclass Participant Capability Criteria
To enter the Multiclass Event, participants must also have enough experience and ability to meet all of the following criteria:

Independently stand on skis or a snowboard;

Ski or ride unassisted, confidently, and safely on blue runs (e.g., Front Valley at Perisher)

Shift from snowplough to parallel and hockey stop if they are skiers;

Stop confidently on a blue run at speed; and
-
Ride a chairlift independently
Event Details
Event Course and Time: TBC
Cost: $62 event fee (2 timed runs in each event).
Entries: Entries will close on July 1 at 10.00 pm
Bib Collection: Bibs can be collected from the Interschools Event Office in at Friday Flat, Thredbo.
Results: Results will be emailed after the event. A medal presentation for the top 3 place getters in each division will be held a short time after the event has finished at the bottom of the course.
Helmets: Helmet use is mandatory for all participants, guides, coaches and parents and carers whilst on the course for inspection and during the event.
Divisioning: Multiclass includes athletes with physical impairments, intellectual impairment, and autism. A Multiclass athlete’s disability is recognised via classifications defined by School Sport Australia, Paralympics Australia, and Sport Inclusion Australia.
Multiclass event divisions replicate existing mainstream events, in that they are based on school year and gender, with both individual and school team races across all divisions. Additionally, Multiclass divisioning is further broken down into two subdivisions:
- Physical Impairment which includes athletes with motor, visual or hearing impairment
- Intellectual Impairment and Autism which includes athletes with a Full-Scale IQ score of 75 and lower, and limitations in adaptive behaviour; or those with a formal diagnosis of Autism, ASD, or Asperger’s syndrome.
Entry Requirements:
- All Participants must have an active Snow Australia Snowracer Membership in order to register
- All Participants must complete an Online Participant Waiver Form
Lift Tickets for Thredbo only:
Competitors and Team Managers without a 2025 Thredbo Season Pass can purchase an event lift pass online or in resort.
- Competitors – 5 to 12 age group

The price to purchase a competitor's day lift pass at the resort during the event will be $121.00.
A competitors list will be provided to the Thredbo guest services. Only the names that appear on a competitors list will be eligible for the in resort day lift pass. No changes will be made once the online entry is closed.
- Competitors – 13 to 18 age group

The price to purchase a competitor's day lift pass at the resort during the event will be $131.00.
A competitors list will be provided to the Thredbo guest services. Only the names that appear on a competitors list will be eligible for the in resort day lift pass. No changes will be made once the online entry is closed.
- Team Manager Lift Pass
Team Managers who are assigned to teams/individuals via the online entry system prior to the close of entries will be eligible for a discounted day lift pass.
This discounted day lift pass will be available for purchase in resort from either Friday Flat or Valley Terminal Guest services for their event days only.
The 2025 discounted day lift pass for team managers is $131.00.
A team manager list will be provided to the Thredbo guest services. Only the names that appear on the team manager list will be eligible for a discounted team manager day lift pass. No changes will be made once the online entry is closed.
- Volunteer Course Officials
Volunteer Course Officials that appear on the event volunteer roster, will receive a free-of-charge day pass on the allocated event day to be collected at the Interschools event office at the Interschools event office at Friday Flat.
Lift ticket collection and volunteer check-in can only be done on the morning you are volunteering, not the day before.
