Alpine Director Update - May 2026

Dear Alpine Community,

With another exciting season behind us, riding the momentum from Australia’s most successful Winter Olympics ever, it’s time to look forward to our upcoming winter season. It is just four weeks until the long weekend and the scheduled opening for the resorts. Just four weeks until we can make our first turns and reunite with friends from the snow.

As we enter this period it is a great opportunity to channel our excitement to fuel our motivation and take advantage of a good block of dryland to get our bodies in peak shape for the upcoming season. A strong body not only helps to elevate our ski performance but also plays a vital role in injury prevention allowing us to take advantage of every day on the slopes.

This is a great time to consider your equipment and make sure everything is in order and ready to go for the season ahead. If any athletes require new skis or boots it always a great idea to contact your club and talk directly with your program director, or coach, to best understand the right equipment for you to take the next step in your skiing.

Also don’t forget about updating your membership with Snow Australia which is now available on our website.

Cheers
Shawn Fleming
National Alpine Director
