Hey Park & Pipe Community!
Welcome to our August Edition of the Park & Pipe Community Newsletter.
June and July were filled with many events from Mini Rail Jams to Triple Crowns. Despite the everchanging snow conditions, it has been amazing to see our Australian Resorts pull off such a fantastic season.
Although the Aussie Winter is soon coming to an untimely end, we still have plenty to look forward to this September and October!
The Interschool National Championships are on from the 1st to 6th September in Perisher! Thredbo will host their final event of the Triple Crown series, with Big Air on the 1st September. Falls Creek's The Dreamer, part of the Oakley Freestyle Series, is on for 13th September, and the Park & Pipe ANCs are off to New Zealand!

In the lead up to the Northern Hemisphere Winter Season, please submit an EOI to entries@snow.org.au for any overseas events.
Please note, North-American, European and World Cups may need to be entered via the FIS Online Portal. This cannot be completed without an EOI.

| Welcome to our New NSTC Operations Supervisor |
Brent Smith has recently been appointed the role of NSTC Operations Supervisor following the promotion of previous manager Sam Taylor.
Brent moves into the role with over thirteen years of snowsports experience after moving to the Jindabyne area, where he and his family currently reside. With a personal passion for Park and Pipe, Brent quickly became involved in the broader snowsports community initially through volunteering at Interschools and supporting his children through their various development programs, including Snow Australia’s very own FUTURES program.
Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Brent into his new role within the NSTC and the broader snowsports community.

Park & Pipe Director
Snow Australia is seeking an experienced Park & Pipe Director to lead the strategic direction and technical delivery of one of Australia’s most exciting high-performance winter sport programmes.
The role will oversee Australia’s Park & Pipe program supporting the pathway from emerging talent through to world-class performance.
Based at the National Snow Training Centre in Jindabyne, the Park & Pipe Director will play a key leadership role in developing athletes, guiding coaches and ensuring Australia’s Park & Pipe pathway continues to build on its strong history of Olympic and World Championship success. read more >

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Head of Athlete Development to help shape the future of Australian snowsports and strengthen the national pathway from emerging talent through to high performance.
This full-time, permanent role is a significant opportunity to lead the design, implementation and ongoing improvement of Snow Australia’s Athlete Development Framework across all Olympic and Paralympic disciplines. Working closely with coaches, discipline leaders, national institute partners and key system stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a central role in building a connected, evidence-based and athlete-centred development system. read more >

| 6 Months on from Milano-Cortina |
We recently caught up with sixteen year old Winter Olympian Indra Brown to see what she has been up to six months on from her Milano Cortina Olympic Games debut.
Indra’s sweet sixteenth birthday looked a little different to most, celebrating in the thick of training just a week out from her Olympic debut. It capped off a breakout rookie season on the FIS World Cup tour, where she podiumed in her first three World Cup starts, becoming the youngest Australian to podium at a World Cup in any winter sport.
Now back home in Australia, Indra is reflecting on an extraordinary first stint on the global tour. However, it is clear the results are a stepping stone to her future in the sport. read more > |
