Women of Winter - May 2026
During National Careers Week, we’re shining a light on the snow industry as more than a season — it can be a credible long-term career pathway with diverse roles.

Women of Winter is focused on increasing the number, visibility and advancement of women across instructing, coaching, resort management, media, retail, tourism, sport medicine (to name just a numner of snow industry roles) — and making those pathways clearer for the next generation.
New sports careers resources for teenage girls

Her Future in Sport is a new series of tools, resources and content to inspire teenage girls to explore careers across the sporting sector.

While women’s sport is growing rapidly, many girls still don’t realise the wide range of roles available beyond being an athlete or coach. From media and marketing to health, technology, design and management, there is a diverse range of career pathways to explore.

Developed together with teenage girls, the toolkit is fun, practical and designed to help girls connect their strengths and interests to future careers.

The Her Future in Sport hub contains a wide variety of tools, resources and content to empower girls to explore, imagine and pursue their future in sport.

For National Careers Week, Snow Australia sat down with Milano Cortina 2026 Olympian and Brisbane Broncos Game Day Operations Executive, Abbey Willcox, to talk about career paths, networking, and why having a life outside snow is one of the best things she's ever done for her skiing.

Abbey Willcox has always known how to stick a landing. After a decade of hard work on the aerial skiing circuit, including bronze medals at Deer Valley World Cup, a historic Australian World Cup podium sweep and a spot in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic final, she has proven herself one of the most resilient athletes in the Australian Aerials programme.

But ask Abbey about the other side of her life, and you'll quickly discover that her ambition doesn't stop on the snow. Abbey balances her elite training load with a role as Game Day Operations Executive at the Brisbane Broncos, one of the NRL's most iconic clubs.
